PROPHECY CHAT – ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS – THE STORM IS COMING – OCTOBER 17, 2018
Dear Friends in Christ,
“Onward Christian soldiers, marching as to war…
with the cross of Jesus going on before.”
Did you sing those words as a child? That hymn always gave me goosebumps; I was ready to enlist. In the 1970’s, I did enlist; and I am still fighting, as are all true believers. But I believe this battle is coming to a close before the great war.
The battle will increase in frequency and intensity as we draw nearer to Rapture. If you follow current events, you know a showdown in our own country is inevitable. The storm is coming. We do not know exactly what the Lord will use as a catalyst. It could be civil war, economic collapse, invasion, natural disaster, or a bit of all of the above.
What is a Christian to do? In days of chaos we are all called to “stand in the gap” and occupy until He comes but we do not know exactly when He will return in the clouds to take His bride [1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:50-58; John 14:1-3 ; 1 Thess. 1:10, 5:9]. He planned it that way so we live as an army on high alert. We are the remnant of the special forces of God, small but powerful. Our training manual is the Word, teaching us to fight the enemy both offensively and defensively. He arms us with spiritual armor and the very angels of God back us in battle. He is our Commander in Chief; we cannot lose. This generation is called for such a time as this and it is an honor to serve.
There was a time in the history of Judah that the prophet Ezekiel searched for a man among them to repair the fallen walls of Jerusalem and to stand in the gap on behalf of the land so God would not have to destroy it. But he found no one. [Ez. 22:30] In the contemporary English version of the Word, the prophet looked for someone to defend the capital city and protect it from God’s righteous anger…to stop the Lord from destroying the wicked city. At that time Judah did not repent and the Lord allowed the defeat of Judah by Babylon. We are at such a time in the history of America, and the world. The question is will God allow a temporary mercy to America? Only the righteous and wise remnant can stand in the gap for our nation and intercede because our nation is ripe unto judgment.
I believe America will ultimately fall, as is evident from no mention of a North American super power in Bible prophecy. In Zechariah 12, all the nations of the earth come against God’s chosen people, the Jews, in the battle of Armageddon; and that must include the United States. But in this day, we may yet see the mercy of God poured out for a while, just as the Lord spared Nineveh thru the preaching of the prophet Jonah. Jonah was a reluctant prophet sent to warn Nineveh of its impending destruction; he rebelled against saving a city that deserved to die, but he eventually obeyed God and preached a simple message: “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!” Forty is the number of testing. To a pagan people, such a man proclaiming their destruction would have gained their attention. The prophet was bleached white from his head to his toes from the effects of three days in the stomach acid of the fish.
Much to Jonah’s anger, Nineveh repented and God relented; God did not bring disaster upon them at that time. Nineveh ultimately returned to their wickedness and the city was destroyed, but a saved remnant was called out of judgment because of Jonah’s reluctant obedience.
I believe we are seeing great evidence today of called-out-ones standing in the gap for America. President Trump was put into office for such a time as this, just as the previous leaders of our nation were put into office by a sovereign God. The contrast between the last two administrations and the resulting battle for supremacy has revealed the divisions within our country. Social chaos is increasing to the point of violence. As I mentioned in the last Prophecy Chat, the Lord is challenging us to choose a side and stand. Those who choose to stand with God should expect confrontation.
What is your calling in the Christian army of God? I try to be a watchman on the wall who warns of approaching enemies. Because I have assumed this position, I am responsible to be a faithful watchman who remains vigilant or I answer for the blood lost on my watch [Ez. 33:6]. The waiting bride is not complacent and idle as she looks for the return of Christ at the Rapture; we occupy as a conquering army until He comes.
I teach about preparing for times of hardship and chaos in a workshop called Thriving Survival. I do not wish to just survive as we wait; I would like to thrive, especially spiritually. Like an eagle on the winds of God, He enables us to fly through the storm [Isaiah 40:31]. He covers us with His feathers and under His wings we find refuge the Psalmist says in 91:4. What a comforting analogy. Of all those on the face of the earth, the remnant of true believers should be thriving even in the midst of the coming storm as an example to our family and all others who observe us. Choose to be an eagle.
Daniel 12:10 is strongly impressed upon me. Only the wise will know the real war is the invisible one–the war between the angels of good and evil. We must cultivate this wisdom. Learn to be your own first responder, both spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. We cannot depend upon others to discern truth for us. Get in the Word and know truth; pray for discernment. We are not to sit around complacently letting others do all the work. Don your spiritual armor [Ephesians 6:10-18] and report to the front lines. Above all, pray power and protection around God’s Christian army and around His called-out-ones. The time is now and the battle is on. We are living in exciting times!
In Him We Wait, Work and Watch,
